Our Schools

Nesconset belongs to Smithtown Central School District which is the fourth largest school district on Long Island. Their mission is “dedicated to educating students to develop desired moral, ethical, and cultural values, to stimulate and expand a continual learning process and to cultivate an understanding and appreciation of the rights and responsibilities of American citizens, which will enable them to function effectively as independent individuals in a democratic society.”  It is the District’s goal to foster in students good work habits, integrity, self-discipline, good sportsmanship, self-confidence, and a sense of purpose.

 

Activities and Clubs : The schools contain many clubs for students to join, the great majority are after school, and a few before school. High schools in Smithtown offer several science and political awareness clubs and host the Academic Quiz Bowl. There are also many athletic teams for the students to participate in.

 

How do our schools rate ? According to GreatSchools.org who ratings give an overview of a school’s test results, Smithtown School are in the top echelon. The ratings are based on a comparison of test results for all schools in the state with 10 being the best score. In addition, you will have piece of mind to know that the children can walk to the Great Hollow middle school, and that there is a crossing guard and school bus stops at the top of the block for all other Nesconset designated schools.
